Our laboratory equipment is recently renovated to the highest international standards in IVF including:
✓monitoring all critical laboratory operating parameters (temperature, pH, pressure and gas composition) through a state-of-the-art Octax Log and Guard system, to ensure optimum conditions for the embryo culture.
✓Both the laboratory and the surgeries are supplied with high purity air to ensure positive pressure over the rest of the room while air quality is measured as Class C, which is the best possible result in an embryological laboratory.
✓a special volatile substance (VOC) sensor is installed, which constantly monitors the air in real time and helps protect the development of embryos.
✓an electronic supervisor RI Witness system, that checks and records each process within the embryology lab whereby all biologics plates and bottles used in the laboratory carry a with an electronic signature that is unique to any couple. This new technology ensures that the couple is identified with their embryos and the possibility of error is minimised
✓the laboratory's cultivation system is upgraded with new incubators and a gas supply system. Following the "quiet embryo hypothesis" principle, according to which the embryos must be subjected to minimal manipulation so as not to disturb the stable culture conditions, we organized the culture system so that the embryos stay out of the incubators for the minimum possible time. This allows us to keep the embryos up to the stage of the blastocyst, a practice that has proven to increase success rates.
✓Our embryological laboratory is one of the first in Greece to apply cryopreservation by the vitrification method. The technique prevents the creation of ice crystals within the cells, which is the main reason why a large percentage of cryopreserved embryos did not survive with the older techniques. With the technique of dilation, the survival rate reaches 95%, whether applied to ova or embryos.
✓Reliable retention of embryos at any stage of development. Through vitrification, the ovarian stimulation and fertilization process is dissociated from that of implantation. In the case of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), vitrification allows cryopreservation of the embryos at the blastocyst stage after embryo biopsy, so time to complete genetic analysis.
